GMDA conducts enforcement drive to clean Green Belts along SPR

Gurugram। Ajay vaishnav। A 4-day enforcement drive was led by the Enforcement team of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) today to clear the green belts along SPR. This drive will be continued for 3 more working days to remove unauthorised structures along the green belts of SPR.


The drive today was conducted in line with the directions issues by CEO GMDA, Shri A. Sreenivas to clear the green belts & make them encroachment free so that the city can be made beautiful and the green cover can be increased.



Today 30 mtr green belt of about 1.5 km was cleared in sectors 58, 61 and 62, Gurugram. 


About 30 nurseries, 15 Banjara shops and 3 permanent structures comprising shops and service station alongwith about 75 jhuggies were demolished today.


Residents of surrounding sectors had raised several complaints to clear this green belt. 


Before conducting the demolition, an announcement was made for 2 days and notices were served to the violators. 


Such big drives to address the issue of encroachment in the city will be continued by GMDA.


Few issues regarding demarcation were also checked on the spot by GIS team and accordingly demolition was successfully done. 


Furthermore, it was also noticed that local people of villages are taking rent for these activities which are being conducted on government land. FIRs will be also be lodged against them. 


"On the directions of CEO GMDA, we are conducting a four day drive to clear the green belts along SPR. 

Such drives will be continued in the city to clear encroachments and develop green belts in a better way in Gurugram," said Shri RS Batth, DTP, GMDA.


ATP Satender, ATP Mangeram, Field Officer Sumit Boora ,Ashish Tyagi, Urban Environment division Manager S P Singh,Patwari Balbir, Aman, and GIS team of GMDA along with police officials were present in the drive.
