Demolition Drive Conducted by GMDA in Village Sakatpur

Gurugram, June 4: The Enforcement Wing of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has successfully conducted a demolition drive today at four different locations in the revenue estate of Village Sakatpur, falling in the Controlled Area of GMDA, along with the help of the Police force under the jurisdiction of Police Station Badshahpur.

In today’s anti-encroachment drive, 4 Nos. of boundary walls and 2 Nos. of unauthorised structures were demolished to clear up approximately 3 acres of land which was illegally taken over.

It was also found that agriculture land was being used as a car scrap area for which the owner has been directed to remove the scrap and clear the premises within 10 days.

*“During the drive, appeal was also made to the public that they should take prior permission from GMDA before commencing any construction or activity on agricultural land falling under the jurisdiction of the Authority,” said DTP Enforcement, GMDA, Shri R.S. Baath who led the enforcement drive today.*

A special 4-day enforcement drive to clear the Green Belts along SPR was also taken up by the Enforcement Wing of GMDA earlier this week to remove illegal structures and encroachments which tarnish the utility and beauty of the city’s green belts. The drive concluded yesterday wherein 80 acres of green belt area were made free of encroachments.

Today’s drive is in line with the initiative being taken up by GMDA as per the directions issued by CEO GMDA, Shri A. Sreenivas to restore the sanctity of the green belts and to further develop & beautify them in a planned manner.
