-GMDA to make all master roads pothole-free within a week
-Dedicated manpower engaged by GMDA to fast-track repair of potholes and improve road conditions for benefit and safety of commuters
Gurugram, 19 August: In an effort to improve the city roads, a special team has been deployed by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) to fix potholes and repair the damaged portions of the master sector roads in Gurugran. Shri A. Sreenivas, Chief Executive Officer, GMDA has directed the infra 1 division that repair of any pothole-riddled road must be taken up on war-footing and completed within one week’s time.
The Authority has divided the city into four zones. Zone 1 includes Sectors 1-23, Zone 2 includes Sectors 24-80, Zone 3 includes Sectors 81-95 and Zone 4 comprises Sectors 99-115. The teams assigned to this task have been directed to inspect all areas and resolve the issue pertaining to potholes on priority. Filling of potholes is underway across all the zones and teams are on-ground to carry out necessary repair works to improve the road conditions and traffic movement on the master sector roads of the city.
“Rectification of all master roads which have undergone damage or the condition has deteriorated during the rainy season are being taken up on priority and all potholes are being filled to reduce traffic congestion and enhance road safety for commuters. The roads will be made completely pot-hole free for the benefit of the public at large,” said Shri Arun Dhankar, Chief Engineer, Infra 1 Division.
Dewatering of the master roads is also being take up to remove any waterlogging and to carry out the special repairs of the road. Filling of potholes along Southern Peripheral Road, Golf Course Extension Road, Sector 9, sector 21/22 dividing road and from Vatika Chowk to Dwarka Expressway have already been taken up by GMDA. Adequate machinery and manpower have been allotted to all zones to facilitate speedy action and provide relief to citizens.
