GMDA conducted major anti-encroachment drive in sectors 47, 49 and 50.


The Enforcement Wing of GMDA also imparted awareness against use of plastic to address pollution concerns.


Gurugram,  An anti-encroachment drive conducted by the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) along with MCG department, from Vatika Chowk via Tigra (SPR) to Baani square and from Park Hospital to Sispal Vihar covering sectors 47,49 and 50, wherein 14 illegally stationed fruit carts were demolished. Additionally, 6 challans of wrong parking were issued & 4 wrongly parked cars were also towed away. 


During the drive it was noticed that these fruit sellers were being charged   Rs 100 to 200 per cart by  some local resident of Tigra Village and they were made aware to not indulge in any such activities. 


Additionally, 25 nos of Banjara shops set up on the main road along Park Hospital road and along SPR road which were causing hindrance to smooth traffic movement were also demolished, however their utensils and other items were not confiscated and they were asked by the Enforcement Wing of GMDA to clear the area within two days. 


The team also cleared the 500mtr service road starting from Banni square red light up to Hibiscus society, sector 50.


During the drive, DTP GMDA, R.S. Batth also asked the vendors and hawkers not to use polythene in their shops in order to address the issue of pollution caused due to the use of plastic. Many shopkeepers immediately discarded the stock of polythene bags and assured against their usage. 


The drive was led by DTP Enforcement GMDA, R.S. Batth. Present in the drive were ATPs and JEs of  GMDA along with officials of MCG and Traffic Police personnel.
