Crackdown on encroachment continues by GMDA; Anti-encroachment drive held along Park Hospital road, Nirvana Country entry gate opposite Baani Square
Gurugram, A demolition drive has been conducted by Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) with along with MCG officials on Park Hospital road, Nirvana Country entry gate and the stretch opposite Baani Square (Sector 47/49/50 ). The action was taken to resolve the complaints received from the citizens of Gurugram pertaining to illegal street vendors and hawkers on the city roads. In today’s drive, three major spots were identified where there were multiple complaints to remove the encroachments.
The Enforcement Wing of GMDA, led by DTP GMDA-cum-Nodal Officer for Encroachment in Gurugram, R.S. Batth, along with MCG cleared illegal khokhas and rehris which had created major traffic congestion on the road.
A fortnight ago, DTP GMDA visited these spots on three to four occasions and directed the hawkers to remove their rehris. It was found that in close vicinity of Nirvana Country, almost 20 fruit rehris were always stationed on the road. Residents had complained many a times and hence action was taken to remove the unauthorised rehris in the area.
During the demolition drive, around 3 km stretch of GMDA greenbelts were covered & unauthorized structures and food stalls were removed. Almost 10 nos street food carts, 6 nos tea stalls, 4 nos dhabas and 18 fruit rehris which were lacking permission from the MCG Department were removed.
Present in the drive were Assitant Town Planners of GMDA, Satinder Arya, ATP Mange Ram, along with the JEs of GMDA. The vehicle towing department team also accompanied in the drive and also towed away 5 wrongly parked vehicles. Gurugram Police Personnel were also present for handling the situation.
“The team personally visits and request encroachers to remove the encroachment and also guides them for seeking necessary permission. Violators who defy the law and create nuisance for the citizens by encroaching Government land and public spaces will be strictly dealt with,” said R.S. Batth.
